Lata is a seasoned Paralegal with a strong command in Family Law and other areas of law such as Immigration, Personal Injury and Criminal Law. Growing up in a close-knit community and culture meant that her interest in law and desire to help others started when she was a young girl. Lata is extremely passionate about helping people.
Prior to working for Morris Sockle Posadas, PLLC, Lata worked for Thurston County Public Defense, serving her community. She also worked as a legal advocate for SafePlace, a nonprofit organization that focuses on helping survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Lata worked for other family law firms in the Tacoma area for the past 3 years and “finally found the best family law firm whose ideals and beliefs aligns with mine.”
Lata is a proud U.S. Army veteran who served 10 years and medically retired in 2015. She graduated from Purdue University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies. She continued to pursue her legal education and graduated in December 2021 with her Advanced Paralegal Certificate from Edmonds College in Lynwood, WA, approved by the American Bar Association. Lata continues to serve her community by volunteering at the Thurston County Volunteer Legal Services. Lata currently resides in West Olympia with her husband and 5-year-old son. She enjoys spending time with her family, doing fun outdoor activities and simply enjoying the beautiful PNW.
