Advocacy, honesty, and empathy are core values when it comes to Mary’s work and life.

While new to the Morris Sockle Posadas team, Mary has a wealth of experience from her prior career in social work and her time in law school. In 2018, she completed a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and began a career working with families in crisis. After spending almost three years as a foster care social worker for the Department of Social Services, she chose to further pursue her education and attend law school.

While in law school, she worked for a legal aid agency, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and a legal clinic focusing on family law issues. Additionally, Mary was able to volunteer with the Inter-Faith Committee on Latin America, where she assisted families with the unique circumstances of coming to a new country.

In 2023, Mary graduated from Saint Louis University, where she obtained both a law degree and a master’s degree in social work. The combination of law and social work allows her to see the full picture of the issues in family law, from the science of family dynamics to complex legal issues. Having both skill sets allows her to be a strong advocate for clients, one who is able to find the best solutions for them and their families.

Mary is excited to be building a new community in Olympia after moving from the Midwest. When not at the office, she is spending time with her husband and cat, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and rooting for her favorite hockey team, the St. Louis Blues.
